Whether you’re a returning desert dweller or a newbie to the Coachella scene, it’s no secret that you’re going to be experiencing some crazy high temperatures! So, in order to enjoy and fully get that Coachella experience, here are eight Coachella essentials every Coachella attendee, new or returning should have.

 

1. Water bottle collapsible– with all the heat Indio can offer it’s crucial that you stay hydrated!
2. Hand Sanitizer– Dancing in the desert, listening to RAD music with your friends come with a price, it can get a little dirty! Carry some hand sanitizer in case you need a, quick clean up.
3. Wipes– With hella food option carts to try, you wanna make sure you have something to clean up with before and after you get your grub on. (Psst. Both hand sanitizer and wipes can come in handy when it’s time to use the restroom…BAM! Double usage)
4. Gum– Desert heat dry mouth…pretty self- explanatory why gum is crucial

FASHION DIY FRIDAY: Extreme distressed jeans

Welcome to Fashion DIY Friday, where you create the goods.

We’ve seen a lot of distressed denim walking the streets and it’s been modelled by some of the best names in fashion. We’re talking Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and who can forget bad gal Rhi Rhi!

We’re taking inspiration from the distressed jean and delivering you a DIY that anyone can do. Get ready for the Extreme Distressed Jean.

What You’ll Need
– Any pair of jeans
– Good scissors

Cut off the bottoms of your jeans to a length that suits you best. Intentionally fray the ends.

Grab a pair of shorts that you like the length of and place it on top of the jeans. This will be your guide for your highest cut. Slit the jeans and create a hole however you desire.

Continue with as much distress you want your jeans to have!

We know you’re all about that fashion life, and we get it – spending money on clothes is always a good idea.

But if you’re like most of us and have way too little money to spend for such expensive taste, then we want to help a sister out. We’re giving advice out for free – and who doesn’t like a freebie here and there?

Read on for 3 simple things to consider before making a big fashion purchase.

#1 Think of at least 3 different ways you can style the item.
If you don’t already have at least 3 different outfits that you can picture yourself in with this fashion item, then maybe you don’t need to buy it just yet. It’s good practice for buying less and getting more out of things.

#2 If you can’t stop thinking about it, buy it.
If you’ve talked yourself out of buying this thing for a long, long time and you wish you had this item to complete your everyday outfits, then maybe it’s worth investing in. It’s not like an impulse buy; if you can’t get it off your mind when putting together an outfit, go for it!

#3 Can you get a better deal for it elsewhere?
This is rule number one for any frugal friends out there. Shop around in-store and online to see if you can find the same item but with a smaller price tag.

THE EASIEST DIY CROP TOP

Re-vamp your worn out and out-dated tees by chopping them! Yep, we’re encouraging you to cut up your tees and make them into crop tops that are cute AF.

Following our DIY Cut Off Shorts tutorial, which claims to be the easiest DIY, we’re bringing you an even easier DIY that’ll definitely come in handy.

It’s so incredibly easy but it’ll change up an outfit instantly! Here’s what to do…

What You’ll Need
– Any tee you’re willing to chop
– A crop top you own (used as a guide)
– Scissors

Grab a crop top that fits you like a glove. Place that top on top of your tee and mark where you want to cut.

Making sure your tee is straight and flat, cut across in a straight line.

Aaaand just like that, you’re done! Throw your new crop top on and pair it with some high waisted bottoms to complete your outfit of the day!

TAKE THE PERFECT FLAT LAY PIC

So you just owned the Thanksgiving spread, now take the best snap of it to store in your good memories. Just in time for Thanksgiving, here are a few tips on how to take a reeeeaall good flat lay pic.

TIP #1 Considering the background is as important as the items that you’re photographing. Try to find a clean and/or consistent background.

TIP #2 Lighting is what makes or breaks any photo, really. Try to get natural lighting from a window. Direct light may be too harsh and artificial light might make your photos have a yellow tinge.

TIP #3 Just because they’re called flat lays, they don’t always have to be photographed as flat objects. Try taking photos at different angles and don’t be afraid to move the camera closer to the items.

TIP #4 Play around with re-arranging and re-ordering the items in your flat lay. They don’t have to be neatly put together! They can also run off the frame!

TIP #5 Try letting the items in your flat lay interact within the photo. It can be as simple as taking the lids off your cosmetics to show the product, or maybe getting someone to interact with some of the food that your snapping!

TIP #6 Never over-edit the photo! A little increase of the brightness might just do the trick.

DIY Minimal Wire Bracelet

A minimal statement piece? Yep, we’re making it a thing and we want you to make it your thing.

With only a few dollars, some of your mad creative skills and a bit of patience, you can create this cute and dainty minimal wire bracelet. Just imagine you wearing a black on black on black #OOTD with black shades, a pop of a red lip and this minimal bracelet. Fierce AF.

Here’s what you’ll need
– 5 ft of Wire (no thicker than 18 gauge)
– Pliers

1. Create a triangular shape at one end of your wire, leaving about 2 inches excess.2. Loop the excess around the longer side of the wire.

3. Wrap the bracelet around your wrist to see how the bracelet fits and clamp down making a loop where you want the bracelet to end. You should leave another 2 inches of excess and cut off the rest.

4. Repeat step 2 on the opposite end.

5. Bend about half an inch from the end to create the hook.

6. Mold the bracelet to fit your wrist and BAM – you’ve got some cute AF arm candy.
